On the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, we take time to think about and recognized what parts of our lives bring us joy and happiness. I have many things that I am thankful for in my life - I got married to a wonderful woman this year, things are going well at HubSpot, my family and friends are all generally healthy, I have numerous friends having and expecting children.
But for this blog, I thought that there was something relevant to all of our readers that I should mention as a reason to give thanks. I am part of a strong marketing Blog community. I get inspiration and insights for free from many bloggers that make me think about marketing in new ways and open my mind to new ideas and insights for how the Internet is affecting the way companies should do marketing.
So, in the spirit of giving back, here are some links to the marketing bloggers I find that I read most frequently:
* Small Business Trends - great resource, even if your business is not that small
* Duct Tape Marketing- John Jantsch's blog about small business marketing and his book
* Marketing Profs Daily Fix - good tips and insights
* Seth Godin - the godfather of permission marketing
* Toddand - quirky and fun insights from a sharp marketing guy
* WebInkNow- David Meerman Scott's blog about the New Rules of Marketing in action
* Micro Persuasion - useful tidbits, lots of links
* Guy Kawasaki - a little marketing, a little VC, he loves Website Grader so he must be cool
* Top Rank Online Marketing Blog - popular marketing blog
* Marketing Pilgrim - love the name, good content too
* Daily Blog Tips- check it out if you blog
* MarketingVox - I wish they would publish a full RSS feed (not just teasers) and have fewer ads, but it is a good resource for news highlights
* B2B Lead Generation Blog - good read for those of you doing B2B lead generation like me
* Search Engine Land - good if you are into SEO details
* Search Engine Guide - another SEO techie blog
* Search Engine Watch - and again, if you love SEO details
* Andy Beard- the last SEO blog I will mention here
* Copyblogger - great resource for writing headlines and call to action text
* AdRants - funny takes on advertisements, great casual read, I wish they would publish a full RSS feed though...
My complete reading list is gigantic, so don't feel bad if you are not listed. If you feel slighted, email me (mvolpe@hubspot.com) and let me know why you think I should read your blog. I'll add you to my reading list and if I end up reading a lot of your articles, you have a good shot at making the next list.
Happy Thanksgiving!
(to those of you in the US and celebrating the holiday)
Happy Thursday!
(to everyone else)
